Job Description
The AllGoodESS Field Services Technicians will provide technical support for industrial batteries used in stationary energy storage systems and electric vehicles, including hands on installation, maintenance, and repairation of batteries. The Field Services Technician must be able to diagnose and resolve technical issues. This role will also assist with the implementation of new products commissioning, and the testing of the energy storage system’s capacity and power. Responsibilities
Repair and test battery energy storage system and electric vehicle batteries and related products
Use controls-related firmware necessary to communicate with and control the battery system.
Support testing battery manage system (BMS) related performance issues including performing cell and module charging/balancing.
Data gathering: Collect and manage data for various BMSs.
Testing: Create (or assist with creation of) test procedures and execute them on existing or newly created systems or designs
Documentation: Assist, prepare, and develop documentation for various operations including testing
Materials/Inventory: procure and secure products or suitable components to test and characterize
Support: Assist with deployment/installation of betas and provide technical support
Provide technical support for fault isolation and troubleshooting when required to travel to client job site.
Communicate directly with the client on all aspects of project execution including accurate and timely daily reporting
Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and nonconformance issues.
Coordinate return and repair of defective parts in support of warranty claims
Travel to and remain at assigned jobsites until assigned tasks are completed
Manage field tools for field assignments / projects
Requirements
High School diploma and introductory college coursework.
2+ years relevant experience in electrical technician & services in electrical power equipment or energy space and possess related safety certifications.
Prior startup and commissioning experience in energy storage, HVAC, electrical or similar industries.
Ability to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally. International travel deployments are typically between 3 – 6 weeks per deployment.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with dynamic daily priorities.
Experience with new products being introduced into the field at scale.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and work wide ranging ambient conditions based on where ESS products are deployed.
Ability to follow job required Standards and Safety Protocols, and according to OSHA and applicable regulations pre-defined.
Experience & knowledge necessary to safely work with and measure voltages ranging between low voltage controls to 1,000 volts DC.
Experience in a customer-facing role (preferred).
Ability to pass background check and drug screenings required for employment and access to sites including by not limited to Federal, State, TSA and Military.
Must meet the minimum age requirement for renting a car due to traveling requirements.
Must have a Valid DL
Prefers
Working experience with large industrial systems, batteries, or fuel cell systems (preferred).
Current first aid/CPR card, NFPA29E, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
Certified to operate forklifts and telehandlers.
